MIAMI (AP) — George Zimmerman has been released on a $5,000 bond after being arrested for allegedly throwing a wine bottle at his girlfriend.

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office says Zimmerman was arrested last night in Lake Mary on a charge of aggravated assault.

A judge set the bond this morning and ordered Zimmerman to avoid contact with the woman, who wasn't identified, and to stay out of Volusia County, where she lives.

Zimmerman has had several brushes with the law since he was acquitted in 2013 of a second-degree murder charge for shooting unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin.
