WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A Wichita substitute teacher has pleaded to a lesser charge in a sex case involving a teenage girl.
Thirty-one-year-old Jarrod Alan Acquistapace will be sentenced May 22 on two counts of indecent liberties with a child.
The Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office says Acquistapace pleaded guilty to the reduced charge on Monday. He had originally been charged with aggravated indecent liberties with a child, which alleged he had sex with a 15-year-old girl.
The Wichita Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/1myhErz ) the reduced charge accuses Acquistapace of lewdly touching the girl, which would make him eligible for probation.
Wichita school officials said last year that Acquistapace's a substitute teacher from September 2011 to October 2013, but would not say how often he worked or at which schools.
