SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police are investigating after a woman's body was discovered by a mountain biker Monday morning in the mountains north of Ogden.

Authorities say the biker stopped and found the body after his dog smelled something about 9:30 a.m.

Weber County Sheriff's Lt. Lane Findlay says the woman appeared to have been on the hillside for several months, and the state of decomposition left few clues about her age, identity and cause of death.

Police have removed the body from the mountainside near North Ogden, about 45 miles north of Salt Lake City.
