SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah cornerback Dominique Hatfield has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from a fight during a party.
Court record show the University of Utah football player also agreed Monday to take anger management classes, do community service and pay about $1,000 in restitution as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.
Under the terms of the deal, the charge will be wiped from his record if he stays out of trouble for the next year.
Hatfield was dismissed from the team in July 2015 after he was charged with aggravated robbery and theft in a separate case. He was reinstated when the charges were dropped, but prosecutors filed the assault charge in August.
His attorney Greg Skordas says Hatfield is glad to see the case resolved.
