TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — University of Arizona students will now only have one opportunity to walk with classmates at graduation.
UA officials announced Thursday that the school will no longer offer a winter commencement ceremony.
They say only one university-wide ceremony will be held at the end of the spring semester starting this year. Students who graduate in December will have the option of walking in May, either the semester before or after they complete their studies.
Campus officials say students will still get personalized attention at individual college convocations, which are held twice a year.
No reason was given for the cancellation.
The UA's 150th commencement is scheduled for May 17 at the Arizona Stadium.
