MANASSAS, Va. (AP) — Prince William County and George Mason University are cutting the ribbon on a game-design incubator that officials hope will allow them to tap into the $80 billion industry of making video games and simulators.
The county is touting the Simulation and Game Institute as a first-of-its-kind public-private partnership on the East Coast. The institute will foster research and development on game design, and support budding entrepreneurs seeking to develop new games.
The incubator and Thursday morning's ribbon-cutting ceremony will be located at the county's Innovation research park, which is also home to George Mason's Prince William campus.
