LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a 32-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman who've been arrested in a vehicle shooting knew the driver who was critically wounded and crashed near a Las Vegas middle school.
Las Vegas police Officer Jesse Roybal said Thursday the shooting wasn't a random act or road rage.
No children were injured.
Tyrone Pedro Bell and Ashley Carswell were being held at the Clark County jail in Las Vegas pending initial court appearances in the Tuesday shooting near Brinley Middle School. They were arrested Wednesday.
Each faces conspiracy, attempted murder and weapon charges, and police say Bell will also face an assault with a firearm charge.
Police say the wounded driver crashed his car and was hospitalized in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. He hasn't been identified.
