BOSTON (AP) — A 13-year-old boy is being held on $100,000 bail after leading Massachusetts police on a chase in a stolen SUV.
State police allege the boy stole a Chevy Tahoe in Foxborough and drove onto Interstate 93 Wednesday night. Troopers pursued the SUV until it crashed into another vehicle about 20 miles away in Boston.
He was arrested after a foot chase that included K-9 units.
The boy, whose name authorities aren't releasing because he's a minor, has been charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident and assault with a dangerous weapon because he allegedly drove toward police officers, who jumped out of the way.
The boy's lawyer didn't immediately comment after Thursday's arraignment in Boston Juvenile Court. His next court appearance is April 14.
