BLACKFOOT, Idaho (AP) — An animal rights group is planning to place a billboard near the site of a highway crash that killed three cows and injured a man in southeast Idaho.
The Idaho State Journal reports People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals announced on Tuesday plans for a billboard on Interstate 15 near Blackfoot.
The group plans for the billboard to have "I'm me, not meat" written next to a picture of a cow. The billboard also recommends for people to become vegan, abstaining from the consumption of animal products.
State police say a semitrailer transporting 87 cows veered into the median to avoid a collision last week. It overturned and many of the cows escaped. The cows were recovered from the highway and nearby fields.
