OGDEN, Utah (AP) — The Humane Society of Northern Utah is adopting a new home in the community of Farr West.
Organization chief Deborah J. Barnes tells the Standard-Examiner (http://bit.ly/1B8Pk4x ) that volunteers are needed to renovate an existing house and surrounding property into an education and adoption center.
Barnes hopes to have the new facility at 2410 N. 2000 West up and running by Sept. 1.
The work would be the first phase of a larger project to eventually include a bigger, more modern adoption facility.
It'll be paid for with grants and donations of time and money from the public.
Barnes calls volunteers the backbone of the organization.
She says paint and painters, someone to level the lot, a refrigerator, flooring, and cleaning, landscaping and a parking lot are needed.
