BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Bennington College has inaugurated its 10th president.

Mariko Silver became college president in July. She was inaugurated during a ceremony Saturday.

Before joining Bennington, Silver was a senior adviser to the president at Arizona State University. She became a policy adviser to Janet Napolitano during Ms. Napolitano's time as Arizona governor, where she was responsible for the state's public and private universities, community colleges, and vocational institutions.

Silver also worked at the Department of Homeland Security, also working under Napolitano.

The Bennington Banner reports (http://bit.ly/Jea059) Silver used the weekend's events to announce a new partnership with the Bennington Museum, and her dedication to furthering the college's success in the liberal arts.
