BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — A co-host of the Discovery Channel program "Mythbusters" is going to be the featured speaker at Indiana University's undergraduate commencement.

Jamie Hyneman graduated from Indiana University in 1981 with a degree in Russian linguistics. He is a former survival expert, charter boat captain, diver, film effects specialist, engineer and inventor, but he is best known for testing urban legends, popular myths and online rumors on the program that aired its final show last month.

IU President Michael McRobbie says few people have done more than Hyneman to share the fun of science and engineering with a large and enthusiastic audience.

CurtisSimic, president emeritus of the Indiana University Foundation, will receive an honorary degree. Commencement is May 7.
