JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Merchants in downtown Jackson say they have noticed an increase in the number of Chinese tourists who are making the Yellowstone National Park region a destination.
Andy Nicholas of Alaska Fur Galley tells the Jackson Hole News & Guide (http://bit.ly/1WFPs3x) that he estimates that Chinese tourists accounted for up to a quarter of his summer sales this year.
Brian Riley runs a business that markets the Yellowstone National Park region in China.
Riley says the next step will be to promote Jackson Hole's winter activities in China.
Anna Cole, of Jackson Hole Ski Resort, says she has seen a few Chinese skiers on the snow and the resort is learning more about the China market.
