DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A South Carolina woman accused of trying to kill her three children by driving her minivan into the Atlantic Ocean off Daytona Beach has admitted to violating the terms of her pretrial release by drinking a medicine containing alcohol.

Ebony Wilkerson's attorney said during a hearing Friday that his client tested positive on Aug. 6 after taking NyQuil, not realizing it contained alcohol. The 33-year-old woman had previously been undergoing monthly random urinalysis. It will now take place weekly.

The Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, woman was pregnant when police say she drove into the water March 4. She gave birth to a boy in May.

Wilkerson is charged with three counts each of attempted murder and child abuse. Her children told investigators she was trying to kill them.
