SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) — A military vehicle has overturned on the New Jersey Turnpike, seriously injuring four soldiers.

State police say the Humvee overturned in South Brunswick on Thursday afternoon.

Spokesman Lawrence Peele says a woman and three men were in serious but stable condition. He says the woman has a severe leg injury.

Photos from the scene show the mangled truck upside-down against a guardrail. Soldiers used a jack to lift the Humvee off the trapped passengers. One of its tires had fallen off.

All southbound lanes were closed temporarily.

A spokesman for the Army Reserves at Fort Dix tells Mycentraljersey.com the injured soldiers are with Army Reserves Unit 533rd Brigade Support Battalion stationed at Fort Totten in Queens, New York.
