LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Indiana authorities say the married couple who police say killed three people in Las Vegas had lived in the Lafayette area before moving west.

Lafayette Police Chief Patrick Flannelly tells WLFI-TV (http://bit.ly/1qjK9bo ) Jerad and Amanda Miller lived in the area for a time. He issued a news release saying his officers informed the parents of 22-year-old Amanda Miller and the mother of 31-year-old Jerad Miller of their deaths.

Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office booking records for Jerad Miller showed arrests since June 2007 for criminal recklessness, pointing a firearm, possessing and dealing marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, and battery.

Las Vegas police say the couple had lived there since January. They say the couple shot two police officers at point-blank range Sunday and a third person at a nearby Wal-Mart.
