BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A Boise man has pleaded guilty to stalking a woman for months before shooting her in her backyard.
KTVB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/22yVwzA ) that 36-year-old Christopher Wirfs pleaded guilty to stalking and battery on March 15.
Police say Wirfs shot Makaela Ann Zabel-Gravatt in September 2015.
Zabel-Gravatt says Wirfs was her hairdressing client for years but had started harassing and threatening her in the months before the shooting, leading her to call police multiple times.
She says Wirfs was thrown out of the salon where she works the day of the shooting and sent her threatening texts and voicemails. Zabel-Gravatt says she had just arrived home from work when Wirfs appeared with a gun and shot her.
Wirfs faces a maximum of 35 years in prison at his May 18 sentencing.
