BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A 12-foot Columbian mammoth tusk has been unearthed in Idaho and scientists say more of the fossil skeleton might still be buried at the site. The left tusk was found earlier this year at American Falls Reservoir. Rising water at the reservoir forced a stop to the excavation, but researchers returned when the water dropped.

NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — A 12th person has filed a tort claim against the Idaho Department Juvenile Corrections claiming sexual abuse during his time at a facility in Nampa. The Idaho Press-Tribune reports that the unidentified man filed a tort claim Oct. 29 claiming he needs psychiatric care because of the center's staff's actions. The claim is seeking $1.2 million in damages.

GLENNS FERRY, Idaho (AP) — A garbage truck driver was injured when her vehicle struck a low bridge in Glenns Ferry. The Elmore County Sheriff's Office says the truck was going around 35 to 40 mph when it struck the bridge yesterday. The extent of her injuries was not known, but she was flown to a hospital by air ambulance.
