HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) — Henderson State University has opened a campus in Hot Springs with 145 students enrolled in 24 classes.
Classrooms are in leased space in downtown Hot Springs after HSU had previously occupied space at National Park Community College in Hot Springs as part of a partnership with the school.
Spokesman Steve Fellers for the Arkadelphia-based university told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (http://bit.ly/1AY4E3p ) that HSU has wanted a stronger presence in Hot Springs for several years.
Fellers said the programs offer students the opportunity for a four-year degree without commuting long distances.
The Hot Springs campus offers junior, senior and graduate courses in business and education.
