MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Court records say a former teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a student has pleaded not guilty.

Local media reports that the Mobile County District Court records say 33-year-old Christina Busby entered her plea Thursday morning. Busby was charged with two counts of engaging in a sexual act with a student under 19 years old.

Authorities released Busby from jail on bond Thursday afternoon.

Headmaster Tim Skelton said in a statement that Busby lost her employment at Faith Academy on Aug. 18. It came one day after school administrators learned of the alleged relationship between Busby and a 17-year-old student.

Mobile County Sheriff's Office says the student attended Faith Academy but was not in any of Busby's classes.
