HANOVER, N.H. (AP) — Dartmouth College has settled a lawsuit in which a former assistant lacrosse coach claimed she was wrongfully terminated after missing weeks of work in the wake of her father's death.
The Valley News reports (http://bit.ly/1NMiHkZ ) Tracy Coyne filed a notice in federal court last month indicating that she struck a deal with the college.
Coyne's suit alleged the school wrongfully terminated her and caused her mental and emotional distress. She worked as assistance coach from August 2013 to January 2014.
The suit says Coyne's father got sick and passed away in January, around the time she was set to return after Christmas 2013 break. Coyne claims that she returned to Hanover on Jan. 29, 2014 and was fired the following day.
Details of the settlement weren't immediately available.
