SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A 6-year-old boy has died after being hit by a motorcycle in central Utah.

Salina Police Department spokesman Greg Harwood said Wednesday the boy died from injuries he suffered in the crash.

Police say two Utah teenagers were riding motorcycles in Sevier County Monday evening when the boy stepped in their path.

The riders told investigators that they did not notice the boy before he was struck and injured.

Neighbors attempted to give the boy CPR before emergency responders flew him to Primary Children's Hospital. He died of his injuries Tuesday. Harwood says they are not releasing the boy's name.

Law enforcement officers say they are investigating.
