CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Sheriff's deputies in Carson City say they've arrested nine suspects as part of a three-month investigation into a major drug trafficking ring in the area.
Deputies and officers in the Tri-NET Narcotics Task Force stormed a house on the city's south side near Empire Elementary School early Thursday. They seized three handguns, a stolen motorcycle and nearly 11 ounces of methamphetamine worth more than $30,000.
The Nevada Appeal reports (http://tinyurl.com/meakx5f) 32-year-old Elvin Fred was arrested on suspicion of multiple trafficking charges in addition to being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm and possession of stolen property.
His girlfriend, Tawnee Johnson, also faces drug and stolen property charges.
Both were being held Friday in lieu of $250,000 bail.
The other suspects were being held on bail ranging from $100,000 to $25,000.
