3 hurt in vehicle collision with moose

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Idaho State Police say three people were injured when their car struck a moose that had wandered onto Interstate 86 in Cassia County.

The Idaho State Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1ous1IO ) the Friday night wreck closed the highway's eastbound lands for two hours.

Authorities say the 2013 Honda Accord struck the moose, then went veered onto the shoulder of the interstate and rolled over.

The moose was killed on impact.

The 16-year-old driver and a 55-year-old passenger were taken by ambulance to a Burley hospital. A juvenile passenger was airlifted to a Pocatello hospital.

Their conditions were not immediately known.

Police say all three were wearing their seatbelts.
