FORNEY, Texas (AP) — Investigators say three students and a driver have been hurt in a North Texas traffic accident involving a school bus and an SUV.

The Kaufman County Sheriff's Office says Friday morning's wreck involved a bus from the Forney Independent School District.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says an SUV driver apparently failed to yield to the bus, which had the right of way. The bus was transporting about 30 students when it hit the driver's side of the SUV.

DPS says the SUV driver was seriously hurt and transported to a Dallas hospital. Three children on the bus suffered minor injuries and were taken to another hospital, as a precaution.

Another school bus took the rest of the students to class.

Forney is 15 miles east of Dallas.
