SHELLEY, Idaho — Raise your hand if you have a hard time balancing at the ice rink. I know I sure do. Ice skating, for me, is basically just a never-ending series of seat drops. If I can somehow finish a trip to the rink without a bruised tailbone, I consider myself lucky.
As this video reveals, some of our four-legged friends also struggle on ice.
The poor buck in this video has spent an unknown period of time sprawled out on the ice. So once it is pulled to more stable terrain and is able to stand, you can imagine how awkward and uncomfortable it must've felt.
According to the video's description, this scene unfolded near a construction site in Shelley, Idaho. The original poster and his cousin set out to rescue multiple deer that had become stuck on the ice.
"They would get on the ice and slip and weren't able to get up because their feet would slip immediately," explains the caption. "They were feisty, but we were able to get them off the ice."
I'm always grateful for people who go out of their way to help needy animals during the winter months. Although the deer looked pretty wobbly near the end of the video as it makes its way through the snow, I'm hopeful that it recovered soon thereafter.
