As you travel to Price, what you may not expect is one of the state's best shooting ranges. But just outside of the city you will find yourself at North Springs Shooting Range and it is a spot you will not want to miss. Whether you are looking for your new favorite range equipped with everything you need or to travel back in time and experience the days of Butch Cassidy and your other favorite cowboys, North Springs has it all.

Long range shooting

One of North Spring's most unique offerings includes its long ranges. Shooters come from far and wide to have the ability to use the North Springs 100-yard range, 600-yard range and 1000-yard range.

An extreme long-range facility is also available for rifles, with targets ranging all the way to 1,760 yards. That is more than a mile away! The extreme long range (and the other facilities at North Springs) are available for use at just $10 per day/per user.

These long ranges are home to events like the 2023 Hornady Precision Hunter Challenge, Utah's Rimfire Revival, and more!

Archery range

North Springs is also home to a world-class archery range with three different venues.

First is the sight-in/practice range, consisting of 4x4 block targets from 20 to 100 yards, in 10-yard increments. It is used for sighting in and practice.

Second is the Flat Range 3-D course consisting of 12-14 targets from five to 80 yards.

Finally, the 3-D challenge course offers up to 25 Rinehart 3-D targets, which goes through gullies, washes, hillsides and vegetation.

The flat range is for all skill levels, while the challenge course is designed for the more advanced archer. No broadheads are allowed at any of the archery ranges--field points only.

Cowboy Town

Are you the kind of person who watches Old West movies in awe? Or have you always wanted to put on your best boots and hat and see if you have what it takes? The Castle Gate Cowboy Town can be found here at North Springs and is open to the public. This will have you feeling like you were dropped right into your favorite Western movie.

As you look around the town you will see it has what every town needs; a saloon, bank, inn, and even a little white church. But as you look closer, you will notice these facades are actually home to over 15 themed shooting bays with props reminiscent of the Old West.

Cowboy Town is truly transformed though when the Castle Gate Posse rolls into town and hosts their amazing Cowboy Action Shooting events. Here you can see people of all ages gather in their old west best and try their hand at various challenges set up through the shooting bays. Want to join in on the fun? Keep an eye on their Facebook page and come out to a monthly shoot to join in on the Old West fun!
