Opportunity came knocking at just the right moment for Dr. Christian D. Nilson. After finishing his ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Georgia in 2008, he was looking for an established business to join. An Ogden native, he was hoping to find a practice in the state. The Northern Utah Eye Center in Logan was a great fit for Dr. Nilson. The accessible location at 550 E. 1400 North in Logan offered convenient parking and visibility. The business has steadily grown since August 2008.
Dr. Nilson has an impressive educational background. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Utah and a medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He also completed an internship in family medicine at the University of Colorado; an Ophthalmic Pathology Fellowship at the University of Utah's Moran Eye Center; and a Glaucoma Fellowship and three-year ophthalmology residency from the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Nilson is also a distinguished author of several papers and publications in his field of specialty.
Dr. Nilson's practice provides complete eye care for patients of all ages. Patients can receive refractions for their contacts and eye glasses. Dr. Nilson is experienced in cataract, diabetic, glaucoma and dry eye care. He can perform associated eye surgeries and lasers and provide follow up care for LASIK and other refractive surgery procedures. The Northern Utah Eye Center also has The Optical Shoppe on the premises with an experienced optician that provides customers with the proper fitting of frames and lenses.
The Cache County practice has proven to be quite successful. Dr. Nilson, his wife and five children love the area and appreciate their welcome in the community. The Nilsons are active campers and love to hike, fish, mountain bike and ski. It's a treat for Dr. Nilson to enjoy his vocation and take advantage of world-class outdoor activities here in Utah.
