This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

Wow! That was my reaction when I walked into J. Wong's Asian Bistro in downtown Salt Lake City. The ambiance is spectacular! The beautiful chandeliers, the wall décor, the magnificent fixtures, the table tops that are works of art, the wait staff uniforms and the appropriate music all gave me a feeling of elegance and comfort.

Jordan Wong greeted my guests and me upon our arrival. He explained that the restaurant has only been open five months, but the Wong family has been in the food business for more than 20 years. His mother, Kwan Wong, operates the successful China Platter in Bountiful. Kwan opened this upscale bistro in partnership with her four sons, Jordan, Jason, Josh and Jessie. (Note that all of the sons have a first name that begins with the letter "J," hence, the inspiration for the name J. Wong's Asian Bistro.)

Jordan works the front of the house, and Jason oversees the kitchen. One of the chefs has more than 30 years of experience, and his culinary skills have generated a large following.

My party started dinner with an order of delicious potstickers as an appetizer. We then received our order of tangerine chicken, walnut shrimp, beef broccoli and ham fried rice. Each tasty dish was presented in a most attractive and appetizing way. The portions were large, and we probably ordered more than we should have, but everyone enjoyed the dinner.

J. Wong's Asian Bistro offers indoor and outside dining and an attentive and professional wait staff. Our server was helpful as she explained how the various dishes were prepared. Jordan and Kwan both stopped by to make sure we were being well taken care of.

Utah may be home to many Asian restaurants, but J Wong's Asian Bistro is unique. I'm sure you too will have a great experience there.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
