Sydney (dpa) - International party girl Paris Hilton is in Australia for New Year's Eve celebrations and will help select the face of advertising guru John Singleton's new Bondi Blonde beer on New Year's Day, news reports said Sunday.
Hundreds of Sydneysiders swarmed to catch a glimpse of the hotel heiress as she darted about a major department store in town earlier in the week.
She visited her own perfume range, took a loving look at herself in the mirror, and spent hundreds of dollars on foundation, mascara, conditioner, eye shadow, perfume and body lotion.
Within 24 hours, the Paris show generated 36 reports on mainstream television, radio and newspapers.
Later the celebutante took time out to visit sick children yesterday before revealing a new ambition: a slice of Sydney real estate.
After touring Royal North Shore Hospital's children's ward, Hilton said: "It's great, I love it here, I want to buy a house. It's beautiful."
Hilton's visit caused a stir of excitement among the hospital's staff, especially after she posed for photos with some young doctors who draped a stethoscope over her shoulder.
"I love Australia," she said. "I just wanted to see the kids. I love the kids, I just wanted to give back. The kids were really sweet."
Hours after jetting into Sydney on December 28, Paris took a dip at Bondi, the famous suburban beach, and local mayor George Newhouse hopes she will do again.
"Make no mistake, Paris Hilton will draw the attention of millions of people around the world to Bondi," he said in a statement.
"I have to say that Paris is welcome at Bondi anytime."
Hilton planned to fly out of Sydney on January 2.
