LONDON, Dec 29, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- In the wake of his highly publicized divorce, British singer Paul McCartney is set to use his childhood for an upcoming stage musical, a report says.
The Daily Telegraph reported that a cousin of the 64-year-old former Beatles star has claimed McCartney will draw from his working-class childhood for a stage production of his own musical, "The Liverpool Oratorio."
"It is based on Paul's classical work 'The Liverpool Oratorio,'" Kate Robbins explained. "Paul will approve every note as musical director."
The musical will follow a lead character named Shanty, who like McCartney was born in the British city of Liverpool in 1942 and whose early life was dramatically affected by the loss of a parent.
While Shanty will lose his father in the production, it was the death of McCartney's mother that disturbed his teenage years.
The paper said that while McCartney wrote the original musical in 1992 with Carl Davis, he is currently working with Robbins on its stage adaptation.
