Taipei (dpa) - Anita Horvath, a 21-year-old university student from Hungary, beat 39 contestants to win the 2006 Miss Bikini World beauty pageant in Taipei on Thursday.
"I can't believe it! I want to thank everyone and want to thank the Taiwan people for the wonderful days I have spent in Taiwan," she told the audience in the gymnasium of the National Taiwan University.
Horvath is 172 centimetres tall and her weight is 53 kilograms. Her measurement are 89-60-89. Her hobbies are playing tennis, dancing, cooking and watching films.
She won a crown as well as a diamond ring and a diamond necklace worth 15,000 dollars.
She will serve as goodwill ambassador for one year for pageant organizer the Miss Tourism World Organization of Britain, during which time she must visit Taiwan twice to help promote Taiwan's tourism.
Aranzazu Amoedo from Spain and Pauline Garrison from the Philippines were first and second runners-up in the contest.
Representatives from 40 countries and regions took part in the 2006 Miss Bikini World pageant, which is one of the three Miss Bikini pageants along with Miss Bikini of the Universe and Miss Bikini International.
Miss Bikini of the Universe and Miss Bikini International are held by organizations in the United States.
