NEW YORK (AFX) - Two former employees of C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. filed a sexual harassment claims against the company in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan, according to a law firm.
Sprenger & Lang said the women claim men at the Grand Rapids, Mich., branch, made sexually suggestive, lewd comments and displayed pornographic materials on their desks. The lawsuit alleges when the women complained to management, nothing was done.
When she complained about receiving unwanted sexually-explicit emails, one of the women said she was called a "tattletale" and alienated from her co-workers, the attorneys said.
A C.H. Robinson representative wasn't immediately able to comment because the company hadn't seen the lawsuit.
Sprenger & Lang said similar suits were filed in 12 other states.
In April, Eden Prairie, Minn.-based C.H. Robinson, a transportation logistics company, reached a settlement regarding certain class claims related to gender discrimination. These claims were also represented by Sprenger & Lang.
According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, C.H. Robinson resolved the claims by paying $15 million for all damages, costs and attorneys' fees. Copyright 2006 Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be
