(KSL News) -- When it comes to the top influential American figures to shape U-S history, President Abraham Lincoln tops the list.
The Atlantic Monthly Magazine asked ten notable historians to make the rankings. Lincoln is the president who won the Civil War and ended slavery.
Microsoft founder Bill Gates ranks 54th, and is the first living American you'll find on the list.
Other figures who made the top ten include presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Woodrow Wilson and Franklin D. Roosevelt, as well as civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.
