This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
I am of the opinion that the kitchen is the heart of any home. It serves as a gathering place for families, and I've known more than one person who delights in keeping his or her kitchen in pristine order. Décor is an essential part of this key household area.
Fred and Clara Klein founded Klein's Custom Countertops in 1954. Initially, Fred installed linoleum flooring, but after learning a new technique for fabricating and installing countertops, the family launched the company based upon that principle — with great success.
For the last 55 years, Klein's Custom Countertops has been providing Utah families with beautiful countertops. The company started out producing laminate and Formica but in the early 1970s Klein's became one of the first businesses in the country to fabricate solid surface countertops. In 1999, Klein's added granite countertops to its stock of products and became the first company in Utah to offer quartz surfacing. Today, the business focuses primarily on Silestone quartz countertops and the hottest new countertop material called Eco, made from quartz and recycled products.
Although Fred passed away nine years ago, his legacy lives on in the business. The company is now run by the second and third generations of the Klein family including Fred's grandchildren, Matt Klein and Candice Woodward.
Matt has helped the company become more environmentally friendly in its manufacturing processes through lean manufacturing, production efficiency and offering eco-friendly products. By producing custom materials tailored for a specific job instead of building an inventory, working to produce more with less has also helped the business to be successful, especially in the current economic climate.
In the future Matt hopes Klein's Custom Countertops can continue looking for durable, eco-friendly products that offer exceptional value and will last for a long time. He promotes a high degree of customer service so all of his clients are satisfied.
For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
