LONDON, Nov 6, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- British singer Marianne Faithfull is fully recovered from breast cancer after being diagnosed and treated in September.
She said her treatment and recovery was "an extraordinary experience".
Luckily the cancer was found in its "earliest stages," but it still caused Faithfull to postpone her world tour until March 2007, the Sun newspaper reported Monday.
"It has been an extraordinary experience and, in many ways, extremely positive," she said.
"I didn't realize how many true friends I had. I feel so lucky and loved and thank everybody for all their good thoughts," added the 59-year-old singer.
Faithfull's recovery is likened to that of Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in May last year as she was about to tour. Minogue is set to resume her tour this weekend following surgery and chemotherapy.
Faithfull's tour spanning Europe and the United States has been rescheduled to start in March.
