London (dpa) - The Profumo scandal, a Cold War tale of power, sex and espionage in post-war Britain is to be turned into a stage musical, the Daily Telegraph newspaper reported Monday.

The show, complete with nude sex on stage and new theories of conspiracies and cover-ups, is built around Christine Keeler, the former call girl whose affair at the age of 19 with Conservative War Secretary John Profumo shook the political establishment and led to his resignation in 1963.

Richard Alexander, the creator of the show, to be called A Model Girl, claims to have unearthed new evidence behind the scandal, which also involved Keeler's affair with a Soviet naval attaché.

According to Alexander, the story contains "all the ingredients of a Greek tragedy," while adding a combination of seduction, nudity and louche nightclubs.

Keeler, now aged 64 and living under another name in north London, has been sent the script but declined to comment on it or to co- operate on the musical, the Telegraph said.

Profumo died in March of this year.
