BAILEY, Colo. (AP) -- Authorities in Colorado have identified the 54-year-old man who they say took six girls hostage in a high school classroom yesterday.
The man shot one of the girls, and then took his own life, as police stormed in.
Authorities identify the gunman as Dwayne Morrison. They say he lived in his vehicle, and that he had no known connection to the area. They also say the gunman's assault on his hostages "was sexual in nature."
Police say they still don't know the motive of the gunman.
At a news conference, the sheriff defended the decision to storm the classroom, saying the gunman had "traumatized and assaulted" the hostages.
