THE FRONT PORCH — One of Hollywood's most infamous stunt setups is a person jumping away right before something collapses or explodes. How many times have we seen this play out in movies?
Here are some common examples for your consideration:
- Lunging out of a building before it blows up
- Jumping off a bridge before it collapses
- Leaping out of a helicopter before it explodes
- Hurtling off a boat before it's engulfed in flames
These scenes are thrilling to watch, but usually seem far-fetched. As we see in this video, however, sometimes people really do have perfect timing before disaster.
Check it out:
This near-disaster occurred in the town of Delight, Arkansas. According to the video's description, a guy named Rustyn was leaving the house when he noticed the porch cracking over his head. Upon further examination, he saw that the beams were no longer attached to the house and wisely made a break for it.
Well played, Rustyn. Your diving escape looks more thrilling than just about any movie scene out there.
