If you've ever tried to juggle parenting and productivity on a summer day, you know the struggle: sweltering temperatures, kids bouncing off the walls and nowhere quiet to answer a work call. Enter The Big Green indoor playground, Saratoga Springs' newest destination for families — and one that defies easy categorization.

The Big Green indoor playground is rewriting the rules on what a family-friendly destination can be. More than just a place for kids to play, The Big Green includes a thoughtfully designed playground, a full-service restaurant and a productive co-working hub all wrapped into one stunning space.

Natural retreat for families

The first thing you'll notice when you step inside The Big Green is the aesthetic — and it's nothing like the sticky play centers of yesteryear. The space is filled with warm, natural wood finishes, inviting turf hills, and a soothing palette of earth tones and sky blues. Gentle cloud murals drift across the walls, setting a peaceful tone that appeals to both kids and adults. It's a space where overstimulation takes a backseat to calm creativity and connection.

"I just love the way it feels in here," said Caitlin, a parent who lives nearby. "It doesn't feel like I've sacrificed my sanity for my kids to have fun."

Nearly 20,000-square feet of joy

But make no mistake — The Big Green is packed with excitement for kids. Designed specifically for children under 13, the massive play zone features nearly 20,000 square feet of activities, all housed inside an air-conditioned sanctuary that's perfect for escaping the Utah summer heat.

Kids can scale harnessed climbing walls, race around a giant bouncy sports court, explore a multi-level play structure that seems to defy physics and roll down grassy indoor hills that are a magnet for invented games and imaginary play. Safety is paramount here, with staff keeping a watchful eye and equipment built to the highest standards.

Whether your child is an energetic toddler or an adventurous tween, there's something here to engage their imagination and burn off energy — all while you grab a bite or get some serious work done.

The Blue Jay Café: More than just kid snacks

The Big Green has another happy surprise: The Blue Jay Café, a full-service restaurant that elevates the concept of playground dining. With a menu created by a locally renowned, award-winning chef, the café features options that satisfy both young palates and grown-up taste buds.

Think honey pork sandwiches, sweet potato fries with homemade habanero aioli, delicious seasonal salads, fresh cut fruit bowls and Roman inspired Pinsas (fancy pizzas) made with Italian flour. And for the picky eaters, there are crowd favorites like our Blue Jay Mac N' Cheese and chicken tenders with fries. No where else comes close to keeping the family fueled.

"We wanted to create a menu that parents actually look forward to ordering from," said the café's lead chef. "No one thinks they can get a good meal at an indoor playground. We wanted to change that."

With a nearly perfect rating on Google Reviews, The Blue Jay Cafe might have pulled it off.

A co-working space that works as hard as you do

While the kids climb and explore, parents can get down to business — literally. One of The Big Green's most unique features is its fully equipped co-working space, complete with work desks that overlook the playground, private sound proof phone booths for meetings, blazing-fast Wi-Fi, and more power outlets than the office.

It's like a slice of WeWork planted in the middle of a kid paradise. Whether you're a remote worker, a freelancer, or just catching up on emails, this workspace allows parents to be productive without sacrificing family time.

"It's a total game-changer," said one local entrepreneur. "I used to scramble for childcare or feel guilty trying to work while my kids were glued to screens. Now they're having a blast and I'm actually getting things done."

A place to escape, connect and thrive

As Utah's population grows and more families look for spaces that work for everyone in the family, The Big Green stands out as a bold new model. It's not just a playground — it's a reimagining of how families can spend time together in a way that both kids and adults look forward to.

The Big Green is the ideal place to celebrate a party, kill some time on a summer day or meet up with friends and family again and again and again.

Whether you come for the slides or the salads, the Wi-Fi or the turf, The Big Green offers something genuinely different — and incredibly needed — along the Wasatch Front.
