When Karla Urie first considered her education path, she had a clear plan — earn a cosmetology certificate and enter the workforce. But once she stepped onto Snow College's campus, she discovered something unexpected: a world of possibilities she never imagined.
"I had decided to pursue a cosmetology program and began researching my options," Urie explained. "Snow College was by far the best option because of price, class size — and I was impressed when I visited the campus and interviewed with the instructor team."
Initially focused solely on technical training, Urie quickly realized that Snow College offered much more than just a trade certification. The experience helped her develop essential life skills, from problem-solving to handling difficult conversations and learning from failure.
"Because of Snow College, I was able to learn skills that go far beyond haircuts and pedicures," she said. "The foundation I was able to build at Snow serves me well every day." That foundation has led her to her current career, practicing law in Salt Lake City.

For Urie, Snow College became more than just a stepping stone — it was a place that expanded her horizons and prepared her for life beyond the classroom. Now, she encourages other students to take advantage of the same opportunity.
