MAGNA — A gravel spill on state Route 201 closed eastbound lanes near Magna for a couple of hours on Monday afternoon.

Eastbound lanes were closed at milepost 3, near the Rio Tinto Kennecott refinery, shortly before 1:30 p.m., according to the Utah Department of Transportation. Drivers were diverted onto state Route 202 until the spill could be cleaned up. The lanes were all reopened at 3:30 p.m.

Information on what caused the gravel spill was not immediately available.
