ST. GEORGE — A man was arrested for investigation of felony evading after he allegedly fled from a Washington police officer.
The pursuit was set in motion Sunday when the officer noticed a white motorcycle heading east on Southern Parkway at high speed. He started trailing the bike with emergency lights activated to conduct a traffic stop shortly before 2 p.m.
The rider reportedly accelerated away from the officer at 112 mph in what the officer described as "an apparent attempt to evade," as alleged in the probable cause statement filed in support of the arrest.
The officer noted the bike's license plate before terminating the chase near mile marker 3 for safety reasons.
