ST. GEORGE — First responders were dispatched to the overpass connecting West Dixie Drive and Interstate 15 at southbound exit 5 on Sunday.
The call came in at approximately 1:12 p.m. after a woman driving a GMC SUV reportedly drove through a barrier on the side of the entrance ramp and landed upside-down on the banks of the Santa Clara River, 30 feet below the destroyed barrier.
Bystanders helped the woman get out of her vehicle, Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Nick Accordino told St. George News. A Gold Cross Ambulance then took her to St. George Regional Hospital in critical condition.
