WEST JORDAN — A 54-year-old man remarkably survived electric shock on Friday after the forklift he was operating either hit or got too close to electrical lines at a work site, firefighters said.

The man received very substantial injuries, but his coworkers were able to get his pulse to return through CPR, according to West Jordan Fire Sgt. Travis Ball.

Ball said the incident happened close to the fire station, so paramedics were able to arrive quickly and perform further life-sustaining efforts before transporting the man to the burn center at the University of Utah Hospital.
