Everyone knows that healthcare workers give all their energy to their patients. So, this year, Noorda-COM is helping you pick out a meaningful gift that prioritizes their well-being. Healthcare workers' lives, responsibilities, and schedules vary, but these are ideas for everyone from hospice nurses to hospice nurses to dieticians and from physicians to medical students.

1. Get cozy with it

Your healthcare hero may spend a lot of time on their feet or exerting themselves physically. Buy them a pair of good insoles; hair ties that are easy on the scalp, or a cozy zip-up they can easily take on and off. Anything that's comfortable—yet durable—will be greatly appreciated.

2. Stand in line with them at Disneyland

Okay, nobody likes waiting in an endless line — but it's all part of the Disney magic, right? Experience-oriented gifts are meaningful and memorable. Give them a gift card to a unique place, like an open-air museum, fondue restaurant, or all-day spa.

Noorda recommends a yoga class — their student doctors love our on-campus yoga activities. Moments like these help them slow down, detach from their stress, and make memories with a friend. Wellness experiences are an important part of graduate medical education and our osteopathic commitment to wellness in the healthcare industry.

3. Support their passion for dance

Your healthcare worker will rarely have normal working hours or time for themselves. Give them a gift that encourages them to prioritize self-care and their hobbies! Buy them guitar lessons, a voucher for a cooking class, or offer to go dancing.

Noorda-COM believes that encouraging our student doctors' passions will help them flourish. That's why Noorda supports their hobbies, and even requires them to complete at least one hour of wellness per week.

4. Get personal

Understanding someone's day-to-day life can help you find an individualized gift. If appropriate, contact your healthcare worker's office. A colleague or receptionist could help you identify your healthcare worker's favorite lunch spot or most needed office supplies.

As revealed by the suggestion above, an observant nature is key to gift-giving. Spending time with your healthcare worker and observing their daily routines will give you hints on gifts that will fit their preferences and needs. Happy healthcare holidays, and good luck!
