CLEARFIELD — A 38-year-old Sunset man was killed in an industrial accident in Clearfield on Monday.

The man, whose name was not immediately released pending notification of other family members, was pinned by a forklift at Americold Logistics, 755 E. 1700 South, a cold storage warehouse.

"When first responders arrived, they found an adult male pinned between a forklift and some freezer shelves with coworkers attending to him. First responders worked quickly and were able to free the victim from the entrapment and rendered some medical aid," according to a prepared statement from Clearfield police.

The man was taken to a local hospital with "significant trauma to lower extremities" and died shortly after arriving, police stated.
