CEDAR CITY — A man who was working on a vehicle was seriously injured in what was reported as an industrial accident north of Cedar City on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on private property near 6400 North and Lund Highway.

Iron County Sheriff's Lt. Jeff Humphries said two men were working on a truck that had been raised with a jack.

"They were trying to shift an axle, and as they were messing with it, the spring gave on the one side of the truck, which shifted the jack and dropped it on the other guy," Humphries told Cedar City News by phone.
