MURRAY — Two drivers are cooperating after being involved in a fatal auto-pedestrian accident that killed a woman at an intersection Thursday morning.

The crash happened at the intersection of 4500 South and 500 West shortly before 6 a.m., according to Murray police spokeswoman Kristin Reardon.

The victim was identified Friday as 44-year-old Dixie Edgar, of Salt Lake City.

Reardon said the driver of a vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.

Westbound lanes of 4500 South were closed for several hours as police investigated the crash. Those have since reopened, according to the Utah Department of Transportation.

The Murray Police Department issued a statement later Thursday morning asking for the public's assistance in locating a second vehicle that was possibly associated with the crash. Thursday afternoon, however, officers identified the second vehicle and the driver came forward.

Police said the second driver is cooperating with officers and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have any information about the crash is encouraged to call Murray police dispatch at 801-840-4000.
