THE ICE — Suppose you're going out for a day of ice fishing. You pack all your equipment and drive to your favorite location. Upon arrival, you survey the area and confirm the safety of the ice before venturing out.

Yes, it seems like you've done everything right. And with the sun shining and the temperature mellow, your success seems almost guaranteed.

But did you stop to think about the local cat burglar? Probably not. You got so focused on the equipment, weather and ice safety that you neglected to bring a ball of yarn. And if you'd had that yarn, you could've tossed it to the cat before it ran off with your fish and your rod.

According to the video's description, this theft occurred last month in Belarus.

"I was ice fishing on the Neman River when a wild cat came and stole my fish," explains the caption.

You might be thinking that you don't have to worry about the wild cat from this video, since you don't plan to go fishing in Belarus anytime soon. But a bandit like this could easily forge a passport and make its way to your local lake. So always be on the lookout, lest you find yourself scrambling across the ice in a desperate attempt to stop a fish theft.
